i like this one. nice soft tones and focus.
thank youuu :) you know.. I'm a bit pee'd off, when I got home I realised my 17-85 had IS turned OFF! so around half the pics are too soft :( out of around 300ish pics!! argh it made me SO angry! and a lovely [error 99] kept popping up too.. typical timing canon...!

doh...i hate it when that happens! I did a shoot the other day and discovered I had +2/3 exposure compensation on. Fortunately with the RAW filesm I can recover it pretty well.

My 17-85 is broken....zoom ring jammed...waiting for the camera shop in chi to call me with the estimate for mending it.

Lovely shot Louise, and your PP work is super. I wish I was as adept with photoshop!

it's really just practice :) Sometimes I take upto an hour, maybe even more, just on one image.. and I always return to them after a day or two incase I've missed something! (perfectionist here!)

you make it sound too easy :D.....so many options, I don;t know where to start!

start by shooting in RAW and working on the image with the photoshop plug-in (or the RAW conversion software you'd have gotten with your 40D)
alot of my images just go through that stage, others then go into photoshop afterwards :S heh
